plugged in the digital tv conversion box and it says no signal…am I too far away from the station.?
I live in rural Michigan, just above the state line of Indiana and South Bend. With my rabbit ears on the tv, I receive 5 local stations. I plugged in the new $50 digital converter box from Walmart (minus the $40 coupon) and I get ” no signal”. I’ve checked it repeatedly, and it looks like it is set up right. Any ideas if this is a problem with being too far away from the stations that are broadcasting digitally? Do I need to buy a new, digital outdoor antenna rather than my tabletop set rabbit ears??

Keep in mind that the stations in your area may not be broadcasting in digital yet – by law, they won’t have to change until 2009.
For now, I’d say go back to the analog setup you’ve got, and when February of next year rolls around you’ll be getting that signal you were looking for.
Keep in mind, if you’ve got cable or satellite, the switch to digital won’t effect you a bit.
