Adding a direct tv box to another location…
Here’s the question. I want to sign up for Direct TV, but I want two receivers at home and one at this little office I own (a very small just me office).. can I tell them I want to pay for three receivers, and just buy a used Direct TV satellite and move the old satellite and receiver to the office… would they know? and would it work?
YES, you can do it. it is much cheaper that way too.
typically the installer to whom comes to install your system can “sell” you and additional dish (and hook it up if he has enough time) for a small cash fee (usually $20-30 for the dish, and another 30 or so to hook it up) and as long as you dont hook it up to a phone line or order pay per view, it will be fine.
they wont know because the dish is only recieves the programming, the phone is the only way for them to monitor what and where your receivers are.
this is not illegal either, people do this all the time for their deer camp and r.v.’s
