What hdtv should i get?
I have a viewing distance of 7 feet and wanted to know which tv you guys think would be the best choice out of these five tv’s, I’ll mainly be using them for gaming on my ps3, blu-ray movies and watching sd tv, here are my choices($1400 budget):
Panasonic Plasma’s:
TH-50PX80U(50 inch 768p plasma 1:15k CR) – cost:$1199 OR
TH-42PZ80U(41.6 inch 1080p plasma 1:20k CR)-cost:$1299OR
TH-42PZ85U(41.6 inch 1080p plasma 1:30k CR) – cost:$1399
OR
Samsung LCD’s:
LN40A550(39.9 inch 1080p LCD) – cost:$999
LN46A550(46 inch 1080p LCD) – cost:$1399

I’m mainly leaning towards the TH-50PX80U atm due to the screen size and price plus i think Plasma’s are better then LCD, but I’m not sure if it’ll look good at a 6.5/7 foot viewing distance since it’s only 768p what do you guys think? Also do you guys have any other tv’s for $1400 or less that you think I should get? If so please post it’s specs and why.

The Panny TH-50PX80U is too big for that distance of viewing, and it’s a large screen so 720p isn’t the best choice for that size of screen. I’d go with TH-42PZ80U despite everything people here have said. As long as you don’t over do it by playing super long hours on your ps3, your tv will be fine.
Viera plasma’s have great contrast and color depth. that’s what stood out for me the most next to the samsung lcd’s.
