Where can I buy a battery operated digital tv for about $100? Radio shack has them at $200; which is over my budget. It also comes with its own battery pack. I want something that will work off regular batteries I can buy.
what about the tv radios will those still work?
TV radios that pick up signals off-the-air, right now, will not work come February (I assume you in the US). All you’ll get is ‘snow’ from the DTV signal. So… don’t waste your money on a portable analog TV.
The technology for portable DTVs is still too young for the price to have come down by much. Actually $200 is not a bad price. That’s not good news for you, unfortunately. If you wait a few more months (like ’till Christmas season), I’ll bet you can pick one up for slightly over $100.
