I can’t get 5.1 from my Sony dav 260 surround sound system?
I have just bought this setup again for my front room as i think it is excellent.The set up is,Philips hdtv,PS3 and sony surround sound.Optical cable used for when PS3 is in use,works a treat.
My problem is the with the tv.I am using a infrared eye to view sky in this room.I have used the 2nd hdmi input and connected that to the surround sound,i had no audio at all with this connection.I then connected a scart lead which worked and gave me audio for the tv.
The big problem is it is not 5.1,only 2.1.
Does anyone know if there is a way of adjusting the settings to get 5.1?

It needs to be directly connected to the sky box as this is where the sound is coming from.
