tv samsung 26 lcd hdtv
I just bought a 26′ samsung LNT2653 lcd hdtv, and i have a question about it regarding with the ps3?
I have learned that al lcd tvs have a fixed pixel count at 720p. When i hooked the ps3 to the tv via hdmi and set the video settings, it said that the system could output a maximum resolution of 1080i. Does this mean that any 1080i source material like blue-ray discs will be downscaled to 720p, or does my television actually have the capabilty to output 1080i? So if it does downscale to 720p, won’t it be better to just set the video setting at 720p since it is progressive which is better than interlace(1080″i”)? So kinda off topic. For any people who have downloaded the lastest update for the ps3 which can upscale games and dvds, what would the best setting be?(Upscale:Normal,Full,Off, or Smooth:On, Off.) And at what resoultion would be best for playing ps1 and ps2 games.(1080i, 720p, or their native resolution at 480p?
your LN-T2653 TV can display a max resolution of 720p.
1080i is better than 720p
1080p is better than 1080i
to connect blue ray to this tv is a waste.
u will get display at 720p
hope that helps
and as far of the other post, there’s some misleading information.
When you talk tv resolution you are talking native resolution, youcan get an AV receiver or a good time to up scale to the native resolution.
for anything over 480i u should use component cables not composite. HDMI is better and most of the incompatabilities between vendors have been resolved for HDMI
stay away from DVI if you can help it.
good luck!
